Dr. Michelle Woodruff
Dr. Michelle Woodruff grew up in Northern BC where her family had a very large grain and beef farm. She started riding in the saddle with her dad as a young child, and by age 3 she had her own horse, Paint. At 11 she started her own herd of cattle. Michelle was immersed in ranch life from an early age and can't remember life without animals around!
She completed Equine Studies at Fairview College in 1993 and followed that with her Animal Health Technology Diploma in 1995. During her work practicum as an AHT she decided she wanted to be a veterinarian and in 2001, she graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine with her degree in Veterinary Medicine and has been practicing in rural Alberta ever since.
Dr. Michelle and her husband Ian have seven children, including two sets of twins. They raise purebred horned Hereford cattle and enjoy being self-sufficient, growing or raising most of their own meat, vegetables, eggs and honey. Outside of practicing veterinary medicine, Dr. Michelle enjoys spending time with her family, riding her horse, gardening, sewing, crafting, and painting.

Budwardo
Budwardo is our clinic cat and he came with the building. He started out as a stray and his name is a combination of Buddy and Edwardo, because Dr. Michelle’s family couldn’t decide which name to give him. He has found his forever home with us and we love him to pieces! He is a very large cat and weighs 8 kg / 17 lbs!
He is a unique “smoke” colour, grey at the roots and black at the tips of his hair. He is very social and especially loves people and dogs. Feel free to give him some cheek scratches if you see him at the clinic!
